hi, vauxhall do a modified linkage for this problem, although i would try resetting the adjustment first before you replace it as this can cure it temporarily. to do this 1st lift up the gearstick gaitor you'll see a small hole in the left hand side of the housing and also one on the gear stick, line these up and use a 3/16 punch or drill bit to lock them in place. next on top of the gearbox, the selector turrett has a small plastic spring loaded plunger. see if you can press this in until the spring is fully compressed. if you can then you'll need to change the linkage as theres too much play in it. if you cant press it in all the way then get underneath the car and slacken off the bolt on the gear selector rod, then back on top, wiggle the plastic UJ by the selector turrett until you can get the plunger all the way in. then tighten the bolt, remove the punch.
