Well my escorts oil change is comming right up.

P.t I drive on a good 10w/40 oil, but i start ticking a little in the first min (not alot you need to concentrate to hear it) but as its going to get way colder here in denmark i want to spare my engine for to much cold wear.

I mostly use my car from my house to work - approx 6 kilometers each way, and some cold days the engine oil dont even get 60 degrees hot.

Some people tells me that 15w40 oil would remove the ticking, but as it being thicker at low temperatures than my current oil i think its a mistake.

Im thinking of using a 5w40 castroll oil at the next 6500 kilometeres, would it go for my escort xr3i?

Ps. SOme people says you can use 10/50 in the summer? As it ticks a little still when hot.


OBS: My cam and lifter + valves was changed 4000 miles ago.
