you don't need water cooling, but after a session you need to let the engine idle to get the turbo to cool propely otherwise you will have internal turbo damage.
series one turbos have a bigger oil capacity as they don't have water cooling, so don't suffer hot switch off the same.
use the water cooling if you can, but beware it can affect the cooling systems efficiency.
