So part 2 :
Yep so me and tony used the one way ticket on the train, the train nearly departed without us.!! It was a long journey and a restless one too as i was carrying 7k in cash on me and I didnt fancy nodding off. but eventually we got off somewhere in edinburgh,
and Kenny c4 kcb, Arranged to pick us up and drive us to where the car was being kept.

After viewing it I was more than impressed, I dropped him down a few for some niggly's like the heater blower wasnt working and the abs light was stuck on. it also had a cracked dash but after the test drive. We struck a deal, I phoned my insurance and set the sat nav up to get us home.

It was November 2007, and It had 10 year old michelin pilots on the standard wheels, I definetely had some fun on some of the country roads in scotland.
I remember passing an focus st 1 on the motorway and we had a little play.
And some poontang in a range rover vogue v8 se thought he'd try his luck.
tried to play with a civic but they didnt want to play

These are the pictures of the cos the day after i brought it home

It had a full rebuilt engine by Julian Godfrey in 1998, and had covered 30k when I bought it.

The Spec was 300-320 bhp via msd l1 chip.
Stnd 2wd T3 peaking at 23 holding 21 (yer more on that in a min)
Greens
grp a dumpvalve
Rs500 Cooler.
Spec-r Header Tank (always wanted one of these )
K&n Filter
Mongoose single system 4inch rolled out.

I drove the car for another few weeks with the crappy tyres, and it just seemed sensible to take it off the road for the winter. It was too much of a nice car to lose after I had a scary moment on the slipway. But just before I did take it off road something went wrong lol.

I developed a misfire when full throttling the plugs were ik31's but cylinder 4 had a 71c which was incorrectly gapped.. So I went the cheaper option and bought a set of 71c's.
And it was fine all good.

umm no, I noticed that the coolant was pressurising on the spec-r tank and pissing out the overflow all over my wing and bonnet. Yep you got it, nope it wasnt a cracked block, but yep the 10 year old headgasket had decided to give in. Upon taking the head off
I found out the head was a healthy late spec 2wd head with lots of meat left for skimming, and it had a arp stud/nut conversion.
Yer boy !!! Some luck for a change.

Once the head was off it was clear that the gasket had eaten itself due to age, lack of antifreeze and probably my right foot. No damage was made to the head or engine and thankfully it was a case of fitting a group a headgasket from mr lewis, and bolting it all back together. The head was flat as i didnt overheat the engine and it didnt need skimming.

Heres a little video showing ya my monkey 'Bethan' cleaning the pistons for me
Luckily there was no 'fat bastard damage', to my bodywork !!!!

Well from the headgasket replacement, All went superbly well. I drove the car for another week to test for problems and none occured, it was approaching the end of december and so I took it off the road.

Here's some video's I made during the short time i drove it,
Some I have posted before.
