thanks mate, that was the problem in the end, people believed the clowns who were making the smart arse comments. I suppose they did me a favour in the end as I would now have regretted selling it.
The V5 details are fully word for word identical to those built in 86/87 I think at the time I even put up a copy to prove the doubters.

I remember all the b s at the time and was very interested in buying it myself but bottled it as at the time I already had one in white and would have needed a loan, but knew it was like buying a new car but in the 3dr style (big bonus in my mind).
I was telling my wife about it the other week when we got onto me buying another cossie (still managing to stay cold turkey after not having one for 4 years) remarking how I wish I had bought it now.
but I for one think its a great car whatever the log book says.
