The shells are pressed into the hub carrier,which is a basically a big lump of cast steel,into which the shock,anti roll bar and steering arm attach.There is no way on God's earth that its worn!!!In fact,how can there be wear where the shell's are taped in??There's no movement between the shell and the hub carrier.
The only problems I have in that general area is the hub itself breaking,or to be more exact,the spines on the hub breaking up.I've posted about this a few times on here over the years.
