you can sort of do it, fit rst pistons and new rings after a hone if all is good, the rest is fine, apart from no oil return in the front of the block for turbo, but a return can be welded into the sump pan high up.
in all honesty it'd just be better to get a ready to roll bottom end from a turbo, but i have used a 3i engine before which is the same as a 2i in an xr2 with a turbo technics kit.
i have a bottom end with rst pistons and rods in sat around doing nothing (block needed rebore really and oversized pistons), will need new rings and are all straight, i even have a sump with oil retun in it too, if it's of any use PM me and we can talk as you're not so far away from me.
