the gearing is tall in the st170 meaning you need to rant the nuts off the engine to get its best, personally i would go fot the mtx75 from an rs2000.

oh and the 6th gear in a 170 changes nothing, 70 mph is still at just over 3000 rpm which i think is similar to most 5 speeds
