Agreed it is a strange idea going from its original cvh turbo lump.
However I have one turbo car and that gets all the treats so this is to be just used the odd weekend.

I want something that can be fitted and forgotten about so to speak and a standard st170 engine would offer the best of both worlds for me.
The reliability being the major factor and 170hp would be fine for a nice road spec car. Everything else would remain standard.

I have the option to purchase a pretty mint S1 with 86000 miles from new, full history, 15 trophies etc..
The owner is contemplating splitting the car also, so I can purchase as a whole or less the engine running gear, the saving there would pay for the st170 setup

Like you say though, should it be just kept as Ford intended, breakdown and rebuild every 6 months
