Just check for for a live with a meter(12 volts), and determine which is the earth/switching side, will be different colours on each injector whereas live will be the same on all four.
If you have no noid light, use a old fashioned "swing meter" to watch for earth pulse, as pulse may be too short to capture on digi meter, whereas it will be seen easy by deflection of the pointer on swing meter.
If live is missing, temporarily connect another live into a injector live, this will feed all four, try and start.
I assume you have checked for a good spark ?, if CPS giving no reading it will not spark.
The use of a charger will not kill the ecu, as they are protected quite well, particularly from surges, the main problem with AC chargers though is AC spiking, but most, if not all contain/are anti spike these days.
