They utter shit for lugging IMO Dan. My mate is a BMW specialist and he says the 3 series tourings are not good for carry loads, you get lots of problems with them at the rear.

Ok for chucking the dogs in but not repeated heavy loads.

Also got to remember its an old car now, and using it for lugging stuff round will put a strain on the old components
