Start at Stocksbridge (J35a M1 I think) and head up the bypass then onto the Woodhead. Take this to Stalybridge, turn round and return but bear left up the A6042 to Holme. Bear left and follow the Chain Road over to Marsden and then down the A62 to Denshaw/Delph then follow the road over the A637 Buckstones and have a spot of dinner at the Lower Royal George pub. Set off back up the A637 and back to Denshaw, turn right and follow the road to Sowerby bridge and then take the A629 for a leasurely drive back to the starting point
