The NTK in conjuction with something like T6/T6 2000/SQ6 can be used to compensate the fuelling throughout the whole rev range.
I've seen a 6R4 Metro rally car using SQ6 and an NTK setup maintain perfect fuelling under load even with a throttle slide jammed open!!!
Even if Dan only uses the closed loop fuelling like the 'rest' of us do, to around 4000rpm or 2psi of boost pressure - datalogging could be accurately performed with the NTK even if it's not actually adjusting the fuelling
Its more to trim the fueling up than anything as its VERY thirsty at the moment! Although its not been live mapped.
The idea is to run it all the time for perfect fueling as you mentioned above hence the need for the more expensive item.
