the various faults we have had in ours are:

split intercooler pipework
split fuel pump diaphrams
faulty egr valves (one van was VOR for 2 months bceause they couldn't get enough apaprently)
broken engine mounts

all the above caused the same problems you've described with the lflashy lights on the dash and lose of power etc

we've also had a shockingly high amount of driveshafts let go
