The question cropped up from 2 directions last night:

1)I have a lot of mates doing apprenticships etc and living at home, and what they dont spend on cars they spendon clothes and going outbecause they dont have bills etc and I wondered how many were in the situation that they felt it reasonable to spend 60+% of their money on their car.

2) I see a lot of people on reasonable but not spectacular salaries (uk average is 25k ish) buying new cars. a 30k subaru or evo on 3 months interest free is a sizeable chunk every month and once again I wondered what is percieved as a reasonable amount to be blowing on repayment every month!

Cheers for the replies so far!
