It was for the 9yr old boy. Wasn't about the singing, which was average. Gave the new father/son their moment and hope...think that was the point plus made good tv. I was choked and know when the mrs's watches it later, she'll spew!
I'm with you on the normal sob story but think this one had a worthy edge.
