We had 2 nights of hell with Kaiser and brought him in to our bedroom in the corner and he has slept perfect ever since, we leave bedroom door open and he chooses where to sleep now.
NEVER let them on your couch/bed if you don't want them on as they will not give up. I can now ask Kaiser to jump up on our bed and he will not do it, just plain refuses as he knows it is wrong.
Another great thing for training is a cage, I was dead against it but it works a treat. We would leave him in cage when we went out at first so he couldn't eat or chew anything. Then as he got older(3.5 months) we had a huge kennel and run made and out he went, now we leave him in kennel when it's nice out and in the house in winter and he NEVER chews anything, in fact I sometimes think in the morning he can't wait for us to fuck off.

Dogs LOVE routine, when we leave him at weekend he gets pissed off as he knows we are not going to work. Try and give them the same toy whenever you leave etc and they will soon get used to you not being there.
We give Kais a Kong toy filled with treats EVERY time we leave him.
Oh ok then here is a picture.
