this is obviously playing on your mind barry, and by the sounds of it you want to go to the police,so go and put your mind at rest or you will drive yourself mad with worry and will live with you forever, as you jump at every knock at your door.you were not to blame for the accident at the end of the day.at this moment you have no idea what the pikeys are saying so my advice would be go to your solicitor in the morn and explain what happened as he/she will advise you on the right course to take.
