I'm no expert on the subject mate but depending on things like the choice of cams and setup of the throttle bodies, they become high revving power machines rather than grunty mid range pullers. What I'm trying to say is, this doesn't sound out of character to be producing not that much torque and a shitload of power. Just as an example the new Mugen tuned Honda Civic Type R boasts 237bhp and only about 169ft.lbs of torque, just the way the engines have been designed mate. Yours doesn't sound too different or that far down on torque although getting into the mid-high 170s doesn't sound too unrealistic.
