Default since this gets more intrest'' FRST advice.

Ok a mate of mine is running a stock ECU on his FRST. he has just re-shelled his RST, engine has been out for around 2years, as he rebuilt he shell from new. he had rebuilt the engine just before he taken his rst off the road, he went and fitted the engine and turned it over by hand, got it running and RAN it back in, then check the comprestion, he went to ford fair and poped his head gaskit, the car before had no smoke, at all. bar fuel smoke, he has rebuilt the head and went had it all tested, the head tested, came back fine. fitted the head and ran the car, it started to smoke like a coal engine from a train, when he gives it some shit it clears, when he lets off wait 30-50seconds and it puffs, like a mean PROPER puff, fills the road. it smells like burnt oil. Its not blue, its not black, its a fade of white. it smells like oil and wanter mixed, such as burning smell.

ok,

hes not having any problems on boost, its all fine, its boosting up as it should and is holding a good 10psi of safe boost, but, i removed his oil breather system and that had alot of gunk inside, removed that and cleaned it up. used a compressor, i also remove all oil pips from the turbo ect. removed anything that may have oil or air going throw it, there all clean, we taken it out last night and its not cleared, on tick over it smokes when hes been driving, but after 2-3min it clears, and nothing. and same with start up.

there is no play in the turbo shaft, no in and out play other than the normal up and down VERY little play, like normal shafts are.

its burning oil of course, its chuffing real bad and is rather funny at times lol. but hes getting fed up, he wants to make sure my advice is correct as hes only owned the car 18months and is the first RST hes owned. rebuilt.

i told him that the oil bearings inside the turbo ''which is what he thought also but wasnt sure'' is causing all the smoke ''on over run''

am i correct in saying so? that its the oil bearings inside the turbo that have gone, there is no leak from the mainfold or turbo btw
