The head’s off the original engine, which has been ported to Group A Spec, with new phosphor bronze Group A valve guides, and a light skim. The inlet manifold has also been ported and matched to the head. All work carried out by Graham Goode Racing. Cost £274 for valve guides and labour to fit them, to include cleaning old valves fitting and lapping in. Cost £645 for porting and skimming work. Head came back looking brand new, after it had been cleaned.

Block has been bored out to .50 over, and fitted with Cosworth Racing pistons. A high clamp stud and nut kit has also been fitted. Conrods all weigh the same, and have been balanced. Big End Group A Spec bolts. Crank has been fully balanced along with flywheel and AP Racing clutch cover. Will have the above 4 layer WRC head gasket fitted.

My intention is to build a good bottom end, and then play with injectors/map sensors etc. to obtain a nice reliable road/track going car. Not sure on BHP, will just have to wait and see.

All work and parts supplied by Graham Goode Racing. They are a little pricey, but the level of service, experience and support is outstanding.
