this is on my kids life........, i dont make or even take a penny of the people thats have a sump or a gearbox of me .... all i do is put them in the right direction for good parts

as for the putting prices up on tread ....i didn't know about that im wrong for doing that , i know now wont happen again

the price what i did put up thats what the guy charges for the sump ....no McGuinness tax
I understand Marco and I know from my past experience with you that your one of the few remaining true enthusiasts in the scene who will truly go a long way out of your way to help people and I am all for that mate. Everyone knows your a diamond. The problem is the way you go about it... as an example:

If someone asks for, lets say a sump. Your common reply will be:

I can do that mate, price is £200.

And you will then allegedly help the chap by getting it from XYZ and passing it on to the chap at cost price or cost plus a pint.

So its almost impossible for me to explain to a trader why you don't just say:

I would use XYZ. They charge £200. call 01234 56789
its impossible to explain to a trader that your not trading for free on here when he is paying hundreds of ££s. I hope you can understand that mate.

i know you dont belive me Stu
Your wrong actually mate, I do believe you. The annoying thing is, I think if you applied yourself to it a little better you could make a good few quid supplying things at a profit as a trader on here as a trader mate.

Stuart you know my views on people like Marco, they are what forums are about and all forums’ need members like him

Agreed.

My question to you is this, in your reply you seem to be justifying the trader fee as there is some sort of guarantee members will not get ripped off by businesses that pay the fee and are allowed to sell parts / cars.

There are no guarantees mate but to become an official trader we need name, address, telephone numbers, fax numbers, e-mail addresses etc. A gold member can pay by paypal pretty much anonymously. Also a trader has to buy a minimum of 6 months as your initial payment, which stops a lot of fly by night sales as he has to pay a lump up front.

There will always be arguments for and against the rules on this topic and there can never be a true winner because we need to segregate forum privileges for those whom wish to trade commercially.

People usual argument with me is they think they are not trading and I think they are. My only advice in that instance is if you are not sure if you are classed as a trader under UK law, please call the inland revenue helpline and explain your activities to them. they are usually extremely helpful.
