I have one as a cheap daily hack. TBH I dont find the fuel that bad but I couldn't tell you mpg. £20 a week does me and I work 10 miles from home, never been into mpg figures as you can either afford it or you can't imo.

One thing to check that hasn't been mentioned is the abs system. They quite often throw up faults and the warning light stays on which is an mot failure I think. Mine has been on the whole time I've owned it, 5 years odd. Its done 160k+ and pulls nicely. Interiors wear quite badly too, especially the drivers bolsters.
