Dell is the only PC I'd consider, simply because every one I've had has worked reliably.

I'm no computer boffin though, and I'm sure there will be nine million reasons not to buy a Dell but it works for me.

They sell Dell in the shops now - I've seen them in PC World and in Tesco. I wouldn't recommend Advent - we only had one and it has died a death at only 18m old with a fubar motherboard. May try the sale of goods and merchantable quality ploy.
