That doesn’t make sense to me at all regarding the sparking AFTER you stop turning the key….
However, do you have a mate than can help you out, and a voltmeter????
I know on a saph if you take out the sidelight bulb you can bend the terminal on the bulb ond fit it into the connector for the injector on the loom, when you turn it over the bulb should flash, that will tell you that the injectors are opening.
Then, I’d trace the wires for the fuel pump and check that they’re getting power (not 100% clued up on escorts but I believe the pump is in the tank so you can't just listen for it like on any other cos).
If that’s ok you can assume that it’s getting fuel into the engine, so that just leaves the spark issue, can you elaborate on that????
