It's a nice car, could make a really nice car. Just feel that at 1.5 tonnes it's too heavy, they could have made it better in my opinion. And the renault showcases that, I know this is a ford website and I've owned fords but somtimes it tiresome on here as people really can't see past the brand "unfair race" they did a straight line acceleration test which should have been in the RS favour but it was neck and neck.
Why should it have been the RS' favour? It has more power, but weighs more also.
It is a heavy car, but, there's a reason for that. People demand things from cars now, safety equipment, air bags, crash protection, all that stuff, not to mention sat nav, climate control and all the other toys like that. People want cars to be quiet and refined.
Ford designed a car that will sell, and judging by how things are going so far, it's selling very well, with orders getting filled easily, which in this economic climate is quite impressive. The Renault, although impressive, lacks the things that most people want in a car, and by the sounds of it, isn't selling very well.
But, as I said before, and as many others have said, those two cars are not direct competitors for one another, so it was pointless when it comes down to it!
