Default MK6 Boot realese problem
Hi all,

I have recently purchased a MK6 '96 1.8i Escort( Saloon).

When I purchased the car the interier boot release worked fine when you pressed the button.

Now it is not working for some reason. After trying to open the boot with the key I have found that the lock is seized...guess it was always opened by the button.

I am unable to get into the boot via the back seats as you have to release them from inside the boot...

I have been spraying WD40 in the lock but with no luck!

Is there a way to solve this problem without replacing the lock? Also what would cause the interier boot release to suddenly stop working???

Your thoughts and advise are most welcome
