Guys, honestly, how would it look if a 2009 car couldn't outperform a 1989 car? Same sort of hot hatch 20 years later, 20 years more technology yet you telling me you would still prefer the EsCos? Test was 3 STANDARD cars as mentioned above as they come out the tin. Like all road tests of new cars, it is AS THEY COME, not with trick bits and pieces.
Fair point but the reality is that most escorts will be 330bhp with newer suspension/bushes and tyres which evens things up!
When evo group tested the Mcars they used a CSL with bigger brakes,different tyres and exhaust-simply because thats how most of them are!
The newer cars are better though,thats just the way it is.
