Default New member & potential Fiesta owner

Hi all, I'm new to the forum.

I'm keen on building a track car on a budget and initially I'd planned to buy a 106 or Saxo but I met a mate today who offered me a 3dr 1.1 Mk3 Fiesta for £100, it's an MOT failure (emmissions) but it seems relatively solid but I'm not sure how they fare as track cars. Can anyone advise?

I'd be keen to upgrade the engine and my mate also has 1.6, 1.8 & 2.0 engines available from mk5 Escorts & Mk 1 Mondeos, does anyone know if these type of engines are easy to install?

Bare in mind I'm building this car on pennies and I'm not after a mega fast car but something that is fun on the track.

Hope you can help.
