we had one guy who smashed a motorbike parked up in an office car park, was caught on their cctv getting out the van, looking at it, putting it back on it's wheels again, then driving off but, when questioned about it, said he'd never veen been to that office
he was sacked when he rear ended someone on the M3 doing about 90 the day before his redundancy was due
as for vehicle logs, we've got these handheld signature capture devices so you put your name in and it tells you what van and what route you are allocated, so it's going to be pretty simple for them to find out who it was
it would have been a different matter had it been a speed camera as then you could always say your mate was driving and he/she gets the points, but being pulled over for driving like a twat and getting everything written out and a producer put in to your hand is seriously silly
the other day, some old lady stepped out from behind a tree and broke the wing mirror on the van while i was parked up, i was still in the van as i'd just parked up, but i still reported it to the company and filled out an accident form and everything by the book, honesty is ALWAYS the best policy when it comes to getting potentially buggered by the police these days, so what he was thinking when he gave them the wrong name is anyones guess
