RR operators don't often use Det cans, the time and effort required is more for a full setup, and if this was a power run and not a setup i wouldn't expect cans. CVH's make quite a distinct noise when they knock, so you can hear it when driving usually quite easily. 8 degrees is pretty retarded for idle. Gary is spot on regarding the conservative igntion curve. My advise would be to add 6 degrees advance then go for a drive. I think you'll be suprised...
