I've just fitted my Ractech combined Oil Temp and Pressure guage. but what i want to know is when i should worry about temps and pressure.

When i start the car from cold pressure is at 60lb and as it warms up the pressure drops to around 40lb and then when hot on idle goes down to around 20lb. Should it never really drop below 20lb?? (I understand pressure drops as the oil gets hotter due to it getting thinner...) As soon as i rev it, it goes back up between 40 and 60lb depending on revs but never really goes above 60lb.

Now temperature, when does the oil start to break down and at what temps do things start to go wrong??

It was a really hot day yesterday (dont know if it makes much difference) and the temp got up to about 110c but soon dropped back down to 100ish.

My car is a ZS 1.6 SE with ShawSpeed cams if it makes any difference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
