Having done the same as you as a experiment, I can tell you it overfuels massively, feels very flat starts ok but may chuck out soot, the phase needs to be where it should be as this signals the ecu to go into seqential injection, it will also buck and kick a lot when driven.
The aux pulley doesn't matter where that is so long as the dizzy scribe mark and rotor arm are lined so that the mark falls in the middle of the rotor arm.
The only thing you have to watch when turning the dizzy is if using a angled cap, is that you can turn it enough without hitting the engine manifold.
In my experience it matters greatly that the marks on the dizzy are timed as they should be, as that is where the ecu expects them to be, but up to you if you bother changing them or not.
