Default Silver 4x4 Saph

Thought i'd start a resto thread as i've been reading a few other peoples and thought that my own thread may inspire me to sort my car.

It's not really a resto, more an ongoing project, but anyway.....

This is how i got the car back in July 2006, it was standard bar the usual stg3 bits. I bought the car from a friend, but they still wanted the wheels so they didn't stay long

The car had a few marks that i wanted to sort out

So i got it all stripped ready and took it to work and sorted it. I can't find the pictures of the work being done but it came back nice and fresh

Once that was sorted and i had a good base i wanted to improve on it all, so everything underneath was shotblasted and powder coated

Coilovers and new wheels were then fitted

A small start under the bonnet (the breather hose was temporary, with a bung in to keep it clear)

As the car was starting to come together i got myself a present - some Alcon 6pots with 356mm discs

The car finally hit the road with its first real outing being to the Redcar meet in April 2007 when i managed to break it. Had a few small issues, but i solved all them by fucking up a hub and driveshaft being a twat

This was sorted and after a few months of sorting out other issues that kept occuring it was all fine. Until one day i had an incident that meant i had to choose between a grass verge or a 106, i chose the grass obviously but it resulted in two fucked alloys and a bent tca.

I fitted adjustable TCAs and some spare wheels so i could still use the car. This was nearly 2 years ago the wheels were only meant to be a temp thing, but with doing other things and other commitments i never got them sorted.

I did get further with my engine bay though

And despite it looking odd i have used the car, just so i can get a bit of enjoyment out of it. Seeing as barring the wheels it's fine.

I took the car off the road again 3 months ago as i was going to make a determined effort to sort it. I planned new wheels, T4 and a few other bits and pieces. Unfortunately i was laid off so the car stood like this since

I've given it a wash today though and it looks better

I've also started modifying my front bumper and sorting out where the rear one has been cut. I'll post pics of the front when its done

I know its not the most interesting project but i figure if i have something i can update and see progress on it might encourage me to carry on. As anyone who knows me will agree - if something isn't right i loose interest quickly
