I recently changed my clutch cable, as my old one had a kink in it. One day the pedal just went to the floor, and I discovered the kink and changed the cable. Since putting in the new cable, my clutch has never felt the same. So having friends trying to adjust it for me, I just knew it felt different. So I decided to take it to my mechanic, and let him have a shot at adjusting it. He told me that there was little he could do, and that there was no more adjustment to be had, he felt that there was something internally wrong with the clutch assembly itself. My question is, could it have been the clutch itself that caused the old cable to kink? The reason I ask, is that I never experienced any clutch trouble at all prior the old cable kinking.
