- my Mk2 RS2000s used to do the same - they'd snap as you get a tight spot on the cable. Usually caused by the lubricant/cable sleeve getting fried by where it passed close to the exhaust manifold/heat source.

Not had it so far on my Sierra so have a look at how it's routed on a concours one next time you see one at a show just to make sure you're not missing a clip or something. Or as you say, get some of the Agriemach sleeve or a heat shield
