Dunno just theorising really.

Possibly, however I've done an oil and filter change a couple of weeks ago, and the problem is still there!

How true are the coolant temperature gauges? I know on modern fords, it all runs through the ecu and although the gauge says the engine is at operating temperature, it could be a bit under, causing the oil to not get as hot, which would make the far more accurate oil temp gauge under-read?

Thats just something I have thought of anyway.... Could be worth changing the coolant thermostat?
