should be able to do it in 2 coats no matter what colour your covering

my kitchen was bright orange, 1st coat of white on, ok showed the orange through but this was a base coat, left 24hrs to fully dry and then put 2nd coat on, job done

you have to let the paint dry before putting final coat on else you will be for ever trying to paint the bits that come through
