Aussies love it cause of the rebates they get, but from what I gether it's easier to tune with due to high octane ratings.
There is less power on LPG, no two ways about it, however that's on a dual fuel engine. I believe if an engine is setup from the start to run LPG then power is available, you can run more compression than with petrol, although you will use more LPG for the power than petrol but then it is cheaper.
The Aussies use it on turbo 4.1 straight 6 falcons. I think if done right it would be great yes.
