This is exactly what I did in the early days of secs ecu development!

I have a box simulates weber and EEC4 engines and a recording device
that automatically "drives" the ecu and records all data.
Takes about 15 minutes to do every permutation of driving conditions.
Its not 100% perfect but it now allows me to get map files for people
that now buy my own version S8 ecu and allows them to do a true
plug and play.

Stu is so right, rover mems is no good to say the least
