In Order of importance.
1. Dont gear your car to reach a speed you have no chance of pulling
ie. No point in gearing a 500bhp car to pull 190 cos it wont do it.
2. Tailor your gearing to suit your Power Graph
ie. No point in gearing for 8k revs if you are 150bhp down by then.
3. Have massive Torque to acclerate you up to max speed quickly.
ie. to pull 200 at Brunters requires 0-200 time to be sub 30secs,
4. Have sufficient Bhp to pull the target speed.
The corner makes no difference to Topspeed many do a Standing Start.( Mike R & Rocket Ronnie)
Most f**k up the corner & scrub of all their speed.
My car has set new record figures on its first run on each occation its tried.
ie. 183.3 (then rwd record) 199.8 (overall record bettered on second run) so i know the facts given are what should be aimed at.
