Do not do this!!!
The Cam and Lifters must be ran in together as they work harden in the first 20mins, if you fit new lifters with an old Cam then the lifters will be ripped apart in no time at all! Same goes for fitting a new Cam to old lifters (Cam will be destroyed).
This is not to say that it will 100% of the time there is always an exception but why risk it?! Nobody wants swarf going round their engine

As for a recommendation........... Newmans with solids or if money is tight, stanadard Cam/Lifters from any motor factors less than £100 and just as likely to last/not last as any other hydraulic setup.
