I had another look at it last night, live for the fuel pump comes from the N/S rear tail light, and the original wire has been chopped off and not even insulated, there's about 20 other wires in the car the same, i think that's why stuff has blown as it's earthing out on the body. There's a late spec sierra in my local scrap yard, i don't know if the in car loom is the same as mine or not though. But even just part of it would be an improvement.
