thanks for the reply. Here is a diagram of the arrangement:



Basically the UB is resting on the lintel but it's so close to the supporting wall that i'm sure the lintel could take a massive load at this point. It's only 2.25 Kn anyway and the lintel can take 10 Kn in the centre but the Building inspector is questioning it (nto really sure why). I know the reaction at the point the UB meets the lintel from my structural calcs is 2.25 Kn. Keystone couldn't give me figures for point loadings but said they could be calculated from the info they gave me

Or maybe there is another way to prove it by relation to UDL and point loading?? As the UDL is 35 Kn and my point load is only 2.25Kn there may be an equation to relate the two?

Any help appreciated.
