anyway, the plenum and inlet manifold are heated by conduction from being in contact with the head. doesn't matter what colour the powder coating, it will act as an insulating material on the surface of the aluminium. this will stop the parts loosing their heat to the surrounding air, rather than stop any heat pick up from it.

as said, the air spends so little time in there that i wouldn't worry about.
