As mentioned ABS, just to point out my stays on, but only because one of the belt had snapped, if you leave the car how it is it will fail the MOT, my way round this has been to remove the bulb for the dash light, i have never had any problems driving with the ABS belt snapped, and even taking the belt out is not accepted in some MOT Stations some over look it.

you could go down the long route and remove the whole ABS unit. the belt is only about £10, but you need to remove the shield etc to fit it.
