Well you can hear big ends when they are dead cos the engine sound like a tractor. But not when they are on their way out. Like the symptoms leading up to it. That is only a worse case scenario tho, im sure its something much simpler.
The oil scoop is the return in your sump. looks like a small hoover nozzle. However, start by checking the easiest thing, dipstick in properly, oil refill cap is snug yada yada. u know
