Default Powerchip fitting guide (RS2000 MK6)

This guide applies to a RS2K MK6, but i asume is similar for other models.

First, you need one of these. I got this for £60 which i thought was
a very good price. Ebay sell them for £95, some forums might have them for sale aswell.

Important Make sure it has the correct code or your ECU. Mine is a AFAR ecu, so i needed a powerchip/superchip programmed for that. Also, disconnect battery
before starting, so that you can reset the ecu with the chip fitted

The ECU is located in the passenger side footwell. Easy to access and
the following pictures will show the process

To remove the ECU, pull forward and it unclips out

At the oppisite end of the wiring connecter is where the chip plugs into.
So remove the cover, and there we can see the connection where the chip plugs into. Give this a bit of a wipe to remove excess paste.

Then plug the chip into it

I used a bit of tape to secure it in place, not really needed though

To fit the ECU back into its cradle you will need to remove one of the clips, so take out the cradle, which is held in place by 3 plastic nuts

Then refit everything back together

Then start the car and go for a drive.
If it does n't start or runs rough, check that the chip is fitted properly
and maybe remove some more paste on the contacts.

I found on mine there was a very noticable difference, it feels smoother
and seems to pull a lot better.
So i am very happy.
