Listen with a screwdriver or similar to see which end the noise is coming from, swap the tappets from one end to the other, see if the noise moves.
You are 100% correct Chip, I don't know what I'm doing with the tappets!
I was expecting to remove them and find chuncks missing out of them! I'll try the screwdriver thing tho.
So do people think the noise is no more serious than a set of tappets?
