Well there's a few things I would do, as I'm sure you've already gathered, anything electrical usually turns out to be a complete pain in the arse. Can you not "borrow" or buy another ECU to try for a few days to see if this eliminated the problem, i'm sure if you posted on here someone would have one nearby you, or you colud send it away to be checked out?
Also, I'm sure another loom would be a good idea, I'd imagine you can pick these up for peanuts off of any car being broken?
Failing that, what about Sitech or AVA, they should definately be able to diagnose your faults. I can have a look for that fault finder in my garage if you like as i don't need it, just need to check that it's compatable with your management first.
Well I have an ECU from the Fiesta RS Turbo to go in, but that requires a few wires changing between PINS etc, that nobody wants to tackle.
Trying to find an ECU from another Orion the same as mine might be a problem, I'd imagine they'll be hard to come across. I might be as well posting another wanted thread though..
The problem with the loom is, I'm not 100% sure that there were no mods done to it before I got the car. I could also try asking for a FRST one, but was hoping to get away with not doing that, because I can use the existing loom that's in my car, as they are about 98% the same.
I can't even consider SITECH or AVA just now, due to distance but more importantly, money, hence why I'm trying all the cheaper optoins first
I just thought the Gunson could be the quick/easy solution if it worked.
I know I WILL have to get it all sorted and set-up soon, but I just desperatly need to get it running again just now, so gotta try and be as resourceful as possible, for the least amount of cash
